Flash Bazbo
I did a search and I see that it's been awhile since this subject was brought up. What are your recommendations for the best capo for use on an electric? I've never used a capo before, but now have some work that pretty much requires it. I'll be using it on a Gibson Les Paul. Any suggestions for a capo that works great and won't hurt the finish of the back of the neck? Thanks in advance for your help!
SoundWrangler
I think you'll find the Kyser is worth the price. Haven't used it on a Paul myself, but I think you should be OK. Then you can play all that Keith R. stuff in open G, not to mention the Beatles' "Paperback Writer" in E, w/capo at 3rd fret! (There's even pics of Paul M. rehearsing in the studio with a capo on his Hofner bass!) Or T. Petty's Free Fallin: 1 gtr in E w/capo at 1st fret, the other in D w/capo at 3rd fret! lrbreez
I use a Glider Capo. I use it on a Les Paul '59 reissue, a '62 reissue Strat and on a '62 reissue Jazz Bass and a Martin. It works great, easy on the finish. You can change keys so fast that you can do it in the middle of a song. Their web site is www.glidercapo.com. GC sells them for $25. Binky_dup1
BTW, I use the original ( I have several) not the $22 one with the wheel. Works on electric & acoustic steel string & 12 strings (I have 2)
