Fender Duo-Sonic

Hey, you guys ever hear of a Fender Duo-Sonic? I got one for Christmas in the 3rd grade and wondered what you guys think of it. I know many people who would trade this for a Strat anyday of the week, including me.It has a 3/4 neck, but it's still an awesome guitar.

I have a 1958 Duo-Sonic. Very cool guitar. The neck is clubby and hard to play but the scale length and hot pickups make it ideal for slide so that's what I use it for.

Mine had been refinished in an ugly marble so I stripped it and had it refinished in seafoam green. Looks fantastic with the flamed maple neck and anodized gold pickguard.

A '58 Strat would have cost me $8000.00+ but my Duo-Sonic cost less than $300.00.

Hold on to yours. . . unless you want to sell it to me. ;)

My FIRST electric guitar! Boy I wish I would have kept it. It cost $90 used in 1973. I'm sure it would fetch a bit more these days.. I loved that guitar, but went through a stage of playing Gibsons (LP, Es 335) and traded it back in the 70's. BUMMER!

Bought my daughter a 59'(3/4) for her birthday a few years ago. It had been stripped so I had it done in Mary kaye. Thought it was cool but never tried it through an amp.

About a year ago I took a header off my deck and broke my wrist. Couldn't get my hand around any of my guitar necks while wearing a cast so I had to borrow her Dou for some gigs.

WOW!!!! What a surprise...that thing ripped!! After getting used to the scale length I had quite a ball playing it.

Haven't used it in a while but I can feel my wrist getting tired as I type ....might just have to borrow it again this weekend!
