michael saulnier Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 So I'm watching the big 300th episode Simpsons thingy last night and prior to the anniversary episode they show the "Homer goes to Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp" episode. What an awesome concept. A week of "playing Rock Star" with "big-name" stars giving instruction... I know it's satire... but it's the first time I wished SOMETHING from the Simpsons was REAL. I don't know about you but I'd sign up in a minute! guitplayer I'm still "guitplayer"! Check out my music if you like... http://www.michaelsaulnier.com
Bob Keelan Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 I'm almost positive I've seen something like this that already exists. Guitarists like Leslie West, Rick Derringer.... Anybody else out there back me up on this?
x factor music Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 yes, this is real. but it's not like a summer camp thing, it's more like a conference. go to www.rockandrollfantasycamp.com seriously. jeremeyhunsicker.com
surfmonkey Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 Where's the Advanced Groupie Technique 101 class? I have no homepage.
Jotown Posted February 17, 2003 Posted February 17, 2003 Yeah I saw that last night, I laughed my ass off. In fact there is a rock & roll fantasy camp. I read about it last summer. I am looking for a link, but I can't find it yet. I will keep you posted. Jotown:) "It's all good: Except when it's Great"
Tom Capasso Posted February 19, 2003 Posted February 19, 2003 I always thought that resorts should have a few jam rooms, so while the kids are in the pool and mom is hanging out in the sun, dad could rock out with other players. If it was advertised, they'd get lots of players, and it could be a gas. I suggested this to one resort I visit, but they didn't see it.... Dave Pierce Posted February 19, 2003 Posted February 19, 2003 I know a drummer who went to a "drum camp" quite a few years ago. There were several famous drummers there. I think Ginger Baker was one of them, but my memory sucks on that sort of thing. --Dave Make my funk the P-funk. I wants to get funked up. My Funk/Jam originals project: http://www.thefunkery.com/
