Brian C
Hey, all - forgive me if this is ignorant, , but can an amp's REVERB go out because of a faulty TUBE? I didn't think the tube sections had anything to do with reverb, but I am just learning this stuff, and the guy that has the amp swears that's the cause. ?? Thanks! gtrmac
Some tube amps, old Fenders for instance, use a tube in the reverb circuit. Mac Bowne G-Clef Acoustics Ltd. Osaka, Japan
Gabriel E.
Yeah. That could definitely be it. What kind of amp is it? "You never can vouch for your own consciousness." - Norman Mailer
Franknputer
Sure can - IIRC, the reverb circuit in a Fender uses a tube 1/2 and 1/2 for output to the reverb pan & then input to the amp again. So a bad tube would definitely cause it to go, if it's a tube-driven reverb. Could also be a circuit problem, tho - what happens? Does it make any kind of noise at all, or just flat-out not work? Brian C
Cool, thanks for the info - To those who asked, it's a fairly recent ('90s) Fender amp. What was described to me was just no reverb and he tried a different tank. Could be the RCA jacks as well! Thanks Again - Brian
