OnTheCorner
Myles, Over on HC I had asked if you would give your opinion on the Sveltlana 6L6s, the Electro Harmonix 6L6s in comparison to the new Groove Tube 6L6s and you advised me to check this board out. I have the Svelts and the Electro Harmonics, purchased from Protech in Wheaton MD. The seller likes the EH's saying they are warmer in guitar amps and that the Svelts are more hi-fi sounding. I find the opposite myself. If you've given your review on this site, please adivice where to look. In the mean time, I'll be looking around here. There is a post where people can get to me directly here ... 'feel free to ask myles'. In any case, I agree with you and not the other fellow. Look at my website in the review sections. You can get there pretty fast by: www.guitaramplifierblueprinting.com/6v6.html That is where the 6V6, 6L6, 5881, and KT-66 reviews are. You may also want to check out the Groove Tubes area of the website as there is more information on their new GE tube, that is possibly the best sounding 6L6 ever made, according to a lot of folks such as Watford Valves. OnTheCorner
Myles Thanks for the response, found the review and it confirms my hearing and what you told me. Those Electro Harmonix 6L6s cost me $40 bucks too, and now they now are resting in my parts box beside the stock Ruby Tubes. I can tell you're very busy because you give detailed answers, but if I may ask one more good one. Can KT66s be used in a Peavey Prowler. I know it's a cheap PCB amp but it sounds good and I only paid $320 new. Sometime ago Peavey told me it's plate voltage was around 500vc.
