snailplow
MTV needs to give Layne as much respect as they gave Lisa "left eye" Lopes and Aaliyah.Let them know how you feel here! And be sure to forward the petition's homepage to all your friends. http://www.petitiononline.com/LStaley/petition.html
halcyon
i agree Alice In chains is one of my favorite bands and if it wasnt for them most of the bands today wouldn't exist.
TurboDog
My favorite "grunge" band. Very sad. However, he kinda did it to himself. As hardcore as Staley was, I'm surprised he lived as long as he did. I'm not much for petitions and such, but I'll throw this one in. RIP, Staley.

rog951
Who gives a shit what MTV does? Honestly, how many people in this guitar forum even bother watching MTV anymore? It's no surprise that MTV gave greater billing to the death of Alliyah and Lisa Lopes...they were probably more likely to bring some revenue MTV's way than was Layne. AIC hadn't put anything out for quite a while and I don't think anything was even in the works. As much as it sucks, MTV is all about the $$$. Very little else matters to them...including music. RIP LAYNE! None more black.
Ziggy
MTV made all the money they could off Staley while AIC were at their peak. However, they do not see a way to profit from his death like they can with other performers. If you really want to honor Layne, reach out to someone you know who has a problem with drugs. I know this is can be difficult to do with someone on heroin, but just letting them know they have somewhere to turn to for support when they are ready might make a difference. Layne was a phenomenal talent and another example of a senseless death. Zig
