The most expensive EL34's in the world ... and some normal priced tubes too

I was wondering around my vendor list, seeing whats out there today tube-wise, and found a few items worth sharing with the folks here.

First ... not for me, but maybe for somebody that has won the lottery or something:

 

NOS Mullard EL34/6CA7 with Metal Base (Type I) -----------------$ 850 Per matched pair

5 pairs in stock. OEM (plain) boxes with corrugated cardboard and tissue paper wrappers.

Test data on each box, or tube. Test data indicates "100 hours aging" (they've been burned in for 100 hours).

These have excellent logos. All pairs matched within 2mA. One quartet matched within 2mA $1700

 

...... Pretty pricy for my tastes ......

 

Then, in the normal folks range:

 

NOS JAN Philips ECG 12AX7WA $ 15 each

$ 13 each for 4 or more.

 

NOS Mullard CV4004 (12AX7) $ 50 (too pricy for me)

add $5 for matched triodes (preferred for stereo applications and phase inverters) Matched pairs $115.

British military spec'd version of the 12AX7 with box plates! Excellent guitar amp or audiophile tube. This is a sweet sounding tube which is in short supply. Some players prefer these to the Mullard ECC83/12AX7s!!! Also an excellent selection for audiophiles. These are more extended range than the Mullard ECC83/12AX7. Just got a pile of them in from England.

 

Some 5151's .....

 

5751's are a slightly lower gain/industrial version of the 12AX7. They can be used anywhere a 12AX7 would be used. Also great in the Fender reverb driver socket and fantastic upgrade for the 12AX7's used in Fender reissue Reverb units. They have a nice smooth/mellow top end and are sometimes favored over 12AX7's in guitar amps and audiophile equipment.
