Yo, Nollster...you've got it right. To sound like an old man...hopefully here is some wisdom:

Treasure every moment you have with those close to you, as you never know when it will be your last. Let all arguments be short ones, lest you find yourself kicking yourself in the ass for the rest of your life. Best to ya...

Thanks for that Steve. I've said before and really mean it. We gotta meet next time you get down this way...

I know you lost your dad a few years ago & some of the others lost theirs too. I lost both of mine. My bio dad when I was 4 & my step dad at the Thanksgiving time 12 years ago.

To those of you whose parents are still here, especially the younger guys, cherish the time you have with them. They leave you much too soon...

My Mom and I didn't always agree on things, she hated my music and I pretty much hated hers. She didn't like rock, jazz, or anything of that nature, and thought I was throwing my life away trying to learn to play guitar. She liked the type of songs from Broadway musicals, and silly stuff that you'd see on early 60s variety shows.

But, what the hey. For all our disagreements, after she passed away last year, I found something that she'd left that indicated she was nonetheless proud of what I'd achieved in my life. I couldn't have been happier.

She got to spend her last years with her grandkids as her health failed. I think that was really important to her.

So, for you youngsters who argue with your folks, take good care of them as they get older, too. Make sure you treat them as you will want your kids to treat you as you age.

August 8th, 1969 at 8:45am, I was discharged from the military and was all done, back home, and getting to start life over.

A few days later, Woodstock started.

I was 14 and went with a buddy by train to my first concert without my parents, Miles Davis and Blood Sweat and Tears in Madison Square Garden. Could have gone to woodstock with a few older friends but didnt think it would be anything much Ha! Went to a friends and listened to Dased and Confused while having my first joint and a bottle of wine. Also got my first motorcycle, A 67 250 BSA Starfire. Used to sneek it out at night when my parents were sleeping. Paul.
