myles_rose
I just had to post something here on this ... Today while I was doing some work at Norm's Rare Guitars, I had the chance to check out a 1961 or so Fender Twin in original creme tolex, with the original grill cloth. This amp belongs in a museum. It has an output transformer that is HUGE, one from a time when they had to ship product, but could not get the cheaper parts, and this was the result. This amp benched 95+ watts, into a 8 ohm load, and would easily top 110 watts into its own 4 ohm load. The capacitors are perfect, the noise floor on this amp was amazing. I have no idea of the price of this gem, but its something that even I do not see more than a few times in a lifetime. Regards, Myles S. Caevan O’Shite
I'd love to have been able to have tried it out! Sounds like Bruce Zinky would approve... How'd it sound, Myles? Caevan O’Shite
I was actually looking for a specific April 1st related thread that I remembered- and could not seem to find- -but this was so undeniably juicy; how could it have generated so few replies? So, like I said: Myles- I'd love to have been able to have tried it out! Sounds like Bruce Zinky would approve... How'd it sound, Myles? Whatever happened to that amp, any idea?
