The best Fender 60's creme Twin that I have ever seen

I just had to post something here on this ...

Today while I was doing some work at Norm's Rare Guitars, I had the chance to check out a 1961 or so Fender Twin in original creme tolex, with the original grill cloth.

This amp belongs in a museum. It has an output transformer that is HUGE, one from a time when they had to ship product, but could not get the cheaper parts, and this was the result.

This amp benched 95+ watts, into a 8 ohm load, and would easily top 110 watts into its own 4 ohm load.

The capacitors are perfect, the noise floor on this amp was amazing.

I have no idea of the price of this gem, but its something that even I do not see more than a few times in a lifetime.

Regards,

Myles S. Rose

Tedster.... sorry, didn't have a digital camera with me, but if you call Norm's, they can take one and send it to you.

I'd love to have been able to have tried it out! Sounds like Bruce Zinky would approve...

How'd it sound, Myles?

Whatever happened to that amp, any idea?

Ask yourself- What Would Ren and Stimpy Do?

I was actually looking for a specific April 1st related thread that I remembered- and could not seem to find-

-but this was so undeniably juicy; how could it have generated so few replies?

So, like I said:

That was a long time ago ... the amp went to Chris Issak I believe.
