blake
Myles, I've been pouring over your web site and several of the links from your site in search of a good approach to making my Carvin X-30 come alive. It still has all of the origninal tubes. I'm hoping you might be willing to comment on a couple of possible approaches: 1) 12AX7 EHs (Electro Harmonix) preamp tubes (one might be phase splitter--not sure, since I can't find the schematic) and a pair of THD Yellow Jackets to replace the 6L6GC power tubes. 2) Just go with Groove Tube replacements, possibly in conjunction with a THD Hot Plate. 3) Throw the amp out and get a POD--kidding! :-) Thank you for all of the wonderful info that you've been making available, btw. --Blake
blake
Oops! I intended for the Carvin X-30 amp question to go into the Just Ask Myles section. Apologies from a newbie! Blake
