tld
Just saw this go up on ebay today. Would anyone really sell a '58 Les Paul Standard on ebay with no reserve? Seems a bit odd. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=854330314 The guy has a lot of feedback on ebay, but almost all for buying not selling. It'll be interesting to see if someone is actually going to just wire him 5 figures. tld
The plot thickens...found a very interesting thread on this one here: http://lespaulforum.org/forum/showthread.php?threadid=10843 For a goof, I emailed him asking if it really is the real deal, and why he would sell it this way...the reply: "Hi Yes it is originaly 1958 Les Paul. I sell it because it was from my uncle shop, also i need some money asap. I use Western Union payment and i will shipp the unit by UPS. I am a honest person (see my feedback)so don't worry about nothing Thank you for your interest." ...Where's the nearest mac machine!! rog951
I don't care how much he says it's for real...I ain't bidding until I see it in person. Just too much money. And this is coming from a guy who basically keeps ebay in business. From the picture, you can't tell anything, really. And it's conveniently cut-off at the headstock. Also, the guy's got the sunglasses goin' on. Too risky... None more black.
Nollykin
Hey Fucken hell - thats totally mental. If you read the les paul board's post - you'd see what I mean. Nolly (I hope this guy goes down) "Money, Bitchez and Cheese!" http://www.playspoon.com/nollykin/files/voxline.gif "I never thought about it, and I never stopped to feel - But I didn't want you telling me just what to think was real. And as simple as it comes, I only wanted to express- ...But with expression comes regret - and I don't want you hating me."
tld
Yes, this one is a major scam...sounds like it's under investigation right now. After I read those forums on the links above I emailed the links to the ebay'ers who bid on it just to make sure they were aware. This guy probably hoped to make an off-line deal with someone and then vanish. Hope he burns in hell. Skip_dup1
A while back I saw an amp deal on E-bay that gave me the same feeling-I'm 10,000 miles away, what's to stop the guy from disappearing? I'm sure it's the exception, but one exception's already too many...
tld
Wow...this is insane. Folks on lespaulforum.org swear that this guy has simply grabbed pictures of their guitars...but that auction is still going and it's bid up over $30k! Unreal. Steevo
It looks like this guy has several 'vintage' instruments up on ebay. After looking at the Sunburst, I went to 'View Sellers Other Auctions' and see that he also has a 1969 Gibson, Peter Frampton Sig. Les Paul, and a '58 Goldtop! If you're interested, before bidding, pull his personal info from ebay and call him up.
machinex
This guys feedback doesnt make sense either, everything of his is either private or he was the buyer and it was something cheap.. all the sudden hes selling 4 guitars totalling over $37,000? and ever auction has just one grainy picture of the guitar in the distance? I dont f*ckin think so
