Skip_dup1
Hey folks I found out the day before yesterday that the lenten holiday starts here tomorrow-everything shuts down for four days, so I've been running around like a loonie all day today. Well some of the guitar makers have certainly gone upscale since I was here before. One maker in particular is using Brazillian rosewood, German spruce for his tops, and you can spend a thousand bucks at his factory. I played an Ovation style roundback that totally floored me-sorry Ovation fans-it's nicer than most of the Ovations I've played and that's quite a few. Costs about $600 U.S. (but no strap nuts-argh). Anyway, I found one a dreadnaught folk style that was within reason cost-wise, but I could see coming back with more dollars. It's made from local hardwood, needs better strings but sounds great and plays super (non-cutaway, tho). I hope I'm not coming off as wallowing in self-importance here-if you could care less, great. But these guitars are decidedly worthwhile IMO-take it for what it"s worth. BTW, scuba RULES.

Tedster
Geez, Skip, you're spending all your time checking out the guitars...don't forget the scuba stuff and the babes at the beach. Do they let women enjoy themselves at the beach there, or is it frowned upon? I've heard some pretty wacko things about the Phillipines... Skip_dup1
Hey Tedster Actually took my first scuba lesson, including an open water dive-it`s such a blast I`m considering getting certified. Snorkeling was cool too but I had an unpleasant introduction to lots of little stinging jellyfish. As for the babes-well the women there are just stunning. I did...um, meet someone for an evening, just helping out the economy ya know. You`ll have to forgive me, just back from a cherry blossom party and a bit tipsy. they`re out so early this year that it`s setting records all over the place. But remember, global warming needs more study...
