GUITAR AMPLIFIER CLINIC and THD UNIVALVE SEMINAR

 

SATURDAY MARCH 23rd 10am to 3pm

 

THIS WILL BE HELD AT WESTWOOD MUSIC - 1627 WESTWOOD BLVD - LOS ANGELES CA. 310-478-4251

 

There will be a THD Univalve seminar where you will be able to play the amp with a variety of tubes, learn how the voltage settings can change the character of the amplifier, and get tips on using the amp for recording as well as in a live environment with sound reinforcement equipment or using the amp micd.

 

THERE WILL BE VACUUM TUBE MATCHING EQUIPMENT ON LOCATION, INCLUDING A VACUUM TUBE CURVE TRACER. MATCHED PREAMP TUBES FOR PHASE INVERTER AND DRIVER USE WILL BE AVAILABLE AS WELL AS A FULL RANGE OUTPUT TUBES

 

NORMAL PRICE FOR AMPLIFIER CHECKOUT ON THE SCOPE WITH TUBE TESTING IS $65.00. DURING THE CLINIC THERE IS NO CHARGE

 

At the clinic you will learn the following about your amplifier

 

Clean power in watts - Maximum power in watts - Noise floor (if your capacitors are good or starting to go bad, and this uncovers some other potential problems) - Transformer testing of the power transformer and rectifier section - Output tubes checked for matching and wear - Phase inverter checked for balance

 

A card will be given with the results, which if you are thinking of selling your amp to another person, a store, or on E-Bay, will help attest that your amp is in good condition.

 

This is for working amplifiers only. This is not a repair service. If your amplifier has had problems, please let them know before you amp is tested, as the maximum output tests cannot be done. This will put too much of a strain on old or mis-adjusted amplifiers.

Argghhh! I'm not getting to LA until Sunday! I would sure like to make one of these sometime...I come out about once every six weeks so maybe next time. Thanks for all you do Myles!

I do these clinics about every two weeks or so, and alternate between three or so locations so far.

 

If you drop me an email, I can put you on my mailing list and keep you informed as to my schedule. I also post that information here if you don't want to be on another mailing list
