Dylan
I had the opportunity to play this console over the weekend at a friends house. The game play and graphics are absolutely amazing, but the controller is HUGE and after an hour playing I could feel the tendons in my wrist getting sore. For the record, I had tendonitis very bad a few years ago and was unable to play for about a year. I treated it with acupuncture and after that I've been slowing building my chops back up. I was able to play a gig over the weekend, but I still fear that I might have done some damage. Just a word of warning for any players considering playing or buying one of the consoles. Sylver
Video games: 1. Stress your hands. 2. Addle your brain. (I think they set up patterns that become etched on your neural pathways, in my expert medical opinion. Ask anyone who was ever addicted to Tetris what they saw when they closed they're eyes a night) 3. Takes time away from more important activities, i.e. friends, familiy, social interaction, playing/writing/recording music, listening to music, etc, etc, etc. I remember many days that I spent doing absolutely nothing because I had just gotten the newest computer/video game. I WANT THAT TIME BACK! Thank god I don't like golf. Jack I really don't know what to put here.
machinex
I think there are some games out there that are good for one's mind. The puzzle solving games are a personal favorite.. and I think they are a good source of challenge for a bored mind. Xbox in particular: Abes oddworld, Max Payne, Silent Hill 2, etc etc.. Im not saying spend all your time doing this, but I think games like this promote a little excercise for anyones brain and is a great passtime so long as you dont spend all your time on it. Roto
I have an Xbox and find the controller is very comfortable to play for an hour or so, it all depends on how it fits your hands. Obviously anybody would have problems if you play it long enough. Many have complained about the big controllers. Fortunately Microsoft is going to sell a smaller controller, the same one that comes with the Xbox in Japan. I've stopped playing guitar because I'm afraid it will endanger my Xbox abilities.
