Diddleydaddy
I have been playing for three years this month. I have been looking in to buying my first higher quality guitar. Until now I have been learning on a Squier Strat and a Lower end Alvarez. My interests have began to develop more into acoustic playing and ecspecially fingerstyle. I really like the Taylor Grand Concert models. Are there any Taylor owners or players out there who could give thier opinions on these guitars. I would really appreciate it. Wickerman
If you can find an Alverez Yairi classical (look inside the soundhole. Make sure it's actually signed by Kazuo Yairi) That's one of the best guitars I've ever heard. The man is a genuis. I love mine more every day. (1985 CY116 handmade by Yairi himself) Look for 'em used. Elderly.com usually has a couple for reasonable prices. If you want steel string Taylor makes some real nice ones in the $1200-$1500 range. I have a soft spot in my heart for Martins. They're just so great. 000C1s and 000-16GTs are both great insturments for about $1000-$1200 depending on the store. Alverez Yairi DY40-Cs and DY60s are really awesome. Handmade... (usually not actually by Yairi himself but still by amazing luthiers) That's all I can think of for now. Try lots of stuff out. Happy hunting.
Tedster
Taylors are swell! They're also pricey. I play a Guild. "Cisco Kid, was a friend of mine"
henryrobinett
Guilds are nice. So are Martins. I got a Taylor, but I got a great deal. All the best, Henry Robinett
Steven Denike
Has anyone tried the Godin Multiac Jazz? It has MIDI outs, but I don't know about the little 'EQ' sliders for the preamp they put on the TOP of the guitar! Why not just tape a battery up there, while you're at it???
