Virtual Jim
I'm using dunlop strap locks, and for some reason, the button on one decided it wants to get stuck while it's on my guitar, so now I can't take the strap off my guitar. Anyone got any ideas how to get it off? (Please, no sexual jokes for that question )
Dak Lander
Cut the strap! Jeez, I never had a problem with Strap Loks. Are you using the standard or flush mounts? It sounds like the spring or ball system is broken & if it's the standard mount you may be able to reach in behind it with a SMALL 90degree needle nose pliers, ir a toll like a dental pick & release the snap ring. MAYBE... I would suppose the last straw would be to drill the button out, if it's jammed from spinning with the drill bit. If it's a flush unit I think you're stuck with drilling it out. Have you gone to The Dunlop site and asked them? I found this on their site: Note: If your Straplok brand Strap Retainer begins to stick or become difficult to operate, place a small amount of lubricant (like WD-40) into the locking pin, allowing it to lubricate the small ball bearings in the unit. Press down on the plunger several times to ensure that the lubricant is spread thoughout the center of the plunger. Wipe off any excess lubricant before using. Hope it helps...
