mixsit
I've seen more than a few oldish' Martin acoustics(including our own) with the edges of the pick guard bowing up off the wood. I can't guess why a piece of plastic wouldn't stay intact on the instrument. Anybody? Part time -long time.
Lisa
It's the result of what happens when the plastic shrinks. It's fairly common on acoustics and it's happened to one of my Martins.
mixsit
Ok, that makes some sense. Do you just leave it alone? Is it from a certin age group, as so many even older guitars seem fine? Part time -long time.
strat0124
Yeah, I've got an old HD35 that has some "air" between the pickguard and the wood. Hasn't affected tone, and really and truly I'm the only one that notices. Its still a killer guitar that projects big time. Down like a dollar comin up against a yen, doin pretty good for the shape I'm in
