Jim Soloway
I just received a PRS Archtop II. On the back of the peghead, apparently in gold felt tip, are the serial number and then in the upper corner of the peg head is the number 10. Is the 10 an indication of a 10 top or the 10 inch radius? Thanks in advance. www.solowayguitars.com
Lisa
I believe it may indicate "10" top. Is there also a Paul Reed Smith signature handwritten in the gold pen?
Jim Soloway
Thanks Lisa. It does not have a signature in gold ink, just the serial number and the "10", but I've cleared everything up with PRS. It is indeed a 10 top. I won this guitar in a contest held by JazzTimes Magazine and no one really new anything about it. Only two problems, first, I play 7 string jazz, so it doesn't do me a lot of good as a player. I picked it up when it arrived on Monday and the neck felt like a toothpick. The second problem is that I have to pay taxes on the prize, so it almost certainly has to go. www.solowayguitars.com
Lisa
I'm sure you won't have any trouble selling it. These days, PRS are very popular guitars and I'm sure someone out there would want it bad. Do some checking around and see what the list price and actual street price (sell price in a store) would be for the same guitar. With PRS, the color and 10 top do add on to the price. I'm sure you'll make out ok and then you can buy a guitar that better suits your needs.
