I know very little about banjo, but I love mandos. I've just got an Epiphone. It's okay, but the neck seems to change and no adjustment is available so a bit of a pain. If I were buying a new one, I'd check the Tocoma mandolin. I've not played it, but I have played the acoustic bass and it's just unbelieveable.

I'm afraid I don't know much about either instrument but I can recommend a place called Elderly Instruments highly. I've bought many guitars, both new and used, from them and I've always been more than pleased. They actually specialize in instruments used for bluegrass and country music and they seem to have a good selection. Their website is www.elderly.com
None more black.

The musician friend's catalog have a six string banjo. You play it like a guitar but it sounds like a banjo. What could be easier?

There are two theories about arguing with a woman. Neither one works.
