Hello,

Just wanted everyone (esp. those in So. Cal.) about a first annual event from Guitar Player. Please let us know what you think and if you'll be able to make it:

STEVE LUKATHER, MARTY FRIEDMAN & LARRY CORYELL TO PERFORM AT GUITAR DAY LA

September 21, 2001, San Mateo, CA - Music Player Network and Guitar Player Magazine are proud to present Guitar Day LA, to be held on Saturday, October 6 at Musician's Institute in Hollywood from 12 noon to 6 pm. This year's line up includes, Steve Lukather (Toto), Marty Friedman (formerly of Megadeth) and jazz guitarist Larry Coryell. Marty Friedman will perform, demonstrate his sounds and take questions from the audience.

Guitar Day LA is offering two seminars to all attendees: "Recording Killer Guitar Tones" with Mike Molenda, editor of Guitar Player and "Chops Builder Live" with Jude Gold and Matt Blackett. As well as the performances and seminars, there will be manufacturer exhibits and gear giveaways from Cort, ESP Guitars, G & L Guitars, Kellar Bass Systems and more.

"I'm really looking forward to Guitar Day LA because it's an opportunity to rap about music face-to-face with players, GP readers, and manufacturers," says Mike Molenda, editor of Guitar Player. "Sharing knowledge and exciting musicians about guitarcraft is one of the magazine's most cherished missions and where better to get the word out than at an event filled with great performances, real-world seminars, and booths upon booths of cool gear?"

Tickets for Guitar Day LA are $20 in advance and $25 at the door and are available on http://www.musicplayer.com/guitardayla or by calling (800) 976-1281.
