Let's hear it for Tedster !

Of course anyone here for any length of time knows that Ted is the true sprit of the SSS personified. I can't count the number of times the guy has made me LMAO, or penned the perfect response to someone in a difficult circumstance. This is all the more impressive because of a personal tragedy Ted had to deal with that would have made most people cold and bitter. And yet, he remains one of the most genuinely kind souls I have ever had the good fortune to encounter.

(Sniff)...You all are...(sniff...blubber)...AWESOME...(sob...sniff)... (HONNNNKKKK) (blows nose into a big kleenex)... Gawrsh...I can feel the love... I'm racking my brain for a dgauss-style thing to say, but I can't think of anything. Nahhh, my one regret, and it's a big one, is that the folks on this board can't spend more time together, quaffing their favorite brew (or, in Sylver's case, eating a couple of their favorite brownies) together and maybe jamming a bit. Everyone on this board is way cool. Well, a couple of exceptions, but they usually don't hang around lalalalong. I raise a toast to y'all!!!

Tedster is most DEFINITELY a "class act". not just a "class clown" - although he probably qualifies for that title as well. ;) I'm also privvy to the info regarding Ted's personal tragedy, and I know he's delt with that blow as well as is humanly possible, and I have a great deal of respect for him - not just because he somehow managed to survive it, but because of how well he deals with it. His willingness to share information regarding that loss has been of great support and comfort to me personally, and the man holds a special place in my thoughts as a result. Tedster, I wish you all the best, and enthusiastically join in the ever increasing chorus of well wishers. YOU DA MAN! :thu: :thu: :thu:

You gotta love the Tedster. He's been through more heartache than I could ever bear, and yet he is still a super nice person. I really dig reading his posts, for their humor, insight and humanity. I'm raising a tall glass of postahol in your honor, Ted! Thank you for being such an important part of the SSS family. :thu:

Fess up Tedster... how many of you are REALLY out there? Congrats to "all" of you! :thu: guitplayer
Nah, I think Tedster just has another one of them BORING federal jobs that say you have to hurry up and wait. At least he gets to access the Internet during past times. :D Tedster, You're not really there yet, 1500 away, but keep up the GOOD WORK! I agree with the others as to your kindness, and strength..... and last but not least.... your good sense of humor. You keep the ball rolling.

You can take the man away from his music, but you can't take the music out of the man.

PAAARTY AT TEDSTERS. Actually, back in the day, I once proposed this. In typical Tedster fashion he took me up on it and made the invitaion for real. He called my/our bluff. One day... BTW- I dont mean to pry at all - but some of the references made in this thread make some of us (a-hem) feel "out of the loop". I propose PM's be kept as PMs and public posts are- well public. This grey area feels not right somehow.

I don't think Ted will mind if I post This and This to clear things up. Ted, let me know if you want the links removed.

I first met Tedster in 1956 when we were both in the Army stationed in Korea. Even back then he was interested in the weather, and played guitar. He loved to play a new song called Rock Around The Clock and he would pretty much play it constantly, around the clock, until I grabbed his guitar one night and smashed it over his head. We still laugh about that one. A little later on we started hearing a singer called Elvis on Radio Free Europe. Tedster remarked "Just wait a year or two and nobody will even remember that guy's name". That Tedster, what a card.

( my synapses were just not firing earlier) The bio reminded me that Tedster and I have allot in common. Long live Tedster!

Cheers to Tedster (as I raise my bottle of Henry Weinhard's)! He really is the coolest guy on this Forum by far (next to Craig, of course :D ) if I say so myself. Ted is *always* respectful to forum members regardless of how they act and that alone shows me what a cool guy he is. Prost!

Ted, Every time I read one of your posts, whether silly or poignant, I regret we didn't meet up in person when I rolled through Kansas City on the bus. @#$^& artists and their, "schedules", and "priorities". Yet I'm glad we've connected online, at least. I have to apologize for not expressing my condolances on your loss earlier. I never saw your posts regarding it, and managed to be ignorant of that part of your life. Odd. As several others have said, I'm not certain I could survive an event like that. Peace be with you. Now, I'm literally beside myself...you folks are way too kind. I mean WAY too kind. It's fine to post those links, Khan... Neil, don't worry. That tragedy happened before I was ever involved with this board...and it has been hard. But, thanks, Khan, for posting those links...because awareness of what a horrible and deadly syndrome ARDS is (most people have never even heard of it) is important. Tiffany taught me a great many things...not least of all about how much love "special" people have. So, I will continue to be a champion for things like Special Olympics, ARDS awareness, and ending high speed police chases. For those who'd like to get to know who Tiffany was...here is her site... www.geocities.com/tedsblues2/Tiffany.html Thanks and blessings to everyone. I am truly humbled by you all.
