Notify this board when VH1 or whatever runs a good show

I've been thinking I sure would like to enjoy more visual entertainment. Tedster spurred me on to make this post. I rarely watch TV. But if it was good live music or a good interview with a musician, I'd watch it. How 'bout we notify this board when we find out something good is going to be on TV? (I guess it would only work for those of us in USA. Sorry.)

Tedster said VH1's Behind The Music - Badfinger -- is to run tonight or tomorrow night.

Is it illegal to copy stuff on TV? I'd like to have an archive. http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/wink.gif

Duke,

Ever heard of TV Guide?

And as far as whether it's illegal to record a TV show?

Ummmm.... Yes.

If you're intending to sell it or sell tickets to show it...

but for your "non-commercial private use only"... it's A-OK.

So, c'mon... What planet are you from... Really?

I'm still "guitplayer"!

Check out my music if you like...

I don't know how to take your response but in case you think it's a dumb post...

1. I rarely watch TV.

2. I don't buy TV Guide and yes, I've heard of it.

3. If I did watch TV and if I did buy TV Guide, I just might miss checking it for each and every hour of each and every day for music shows.

4. If I did watch TV and if I did buy TV Guide and if I did check it for each and every hour of each and every day, I might make a mistake and overlook something.

5. If I did watch TV and if I did buy TV Guide and if I did check it for each and every hour of each and every day and if I did note a show I want to see, I might forget.

6. On a golf forum I visit, we do this all the time (notify fellow golfers when we find out a good interview or whatever is going to be on TV). And it is much appreciated. You might find it odd but I find it perfectly reasonable.

Cheers

Lee, that rockontv.com looks awesome. Thanks. Still doens't solve the problem of forgetting to look at it, though. http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/wink.gif

What I'd like to do is buy some type of VCR that's easy to program multiple shows in advance. There's bound to be something that's a real wizard at that.

Duke,

No offense intended... I've just spent a few days in the "flame war" on the keyboard forum... I guess I haven't completely settled back into "friendly" posts.

I also wasn't sure you weren't joking with your questions since TV is such a huge part of our society and "copying" TV shows is typically something most people do if they can figure out how to work their VCR.

Anyway... If I see a good "music show" scheduled, I'll be glad to let everyone know... and I encourage everyone else to do the same.

Yep, copying TV shows is illegal. I tried to have a business showing illegally copied videos in my home. Admission was one of those tags you can rip off a mattress. http://www.musicplayer.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Speaking of which, did y'all hear there was a robbery at a drugstore the other night, in which 20 bottles of Viagra were stolen?

Police are looking for two hardened criminals...

The Badfinger show is tonight...(tomorrow morning) at 1 am...

>>Dear Badfinger fans:

Hello.

This is a mass email to just over 700 Badfinger fans.

If you had the opportunity to watch Badfingers Behind the Music

special on

VH-1 last November you were fortunate to see the acclaimed documentary

series focus on Badfinger. If you somehow missed the five showings

from

early November you are in luck. You have been given a new opportunity

to

catch the Badfinger Behind the Music special. It will be airing as

part of

a Classic Rock Block of programming on April 26 at 1:00 a.m. That is

Wednesday (April 25) evening going into Thursday morning (April 26)

most

likely only in the United States. Granted it isnt prime-time, but

that

point aside, it is scheduled to be on the air. If you missed it the

first

time please try to have your VCR ready to tape the performance and

watch it

the next morning over a cup of coffee.
