archibald3 Posted February 11, 2003 Posted February 11, 2003 I read a post before on this and i couldn`t track it down. What i need to know is how to route my delay plugin in nuendo/cubase etc. so the non-delayed and delayed vocals stay at the same volume-when it kicking in and out?How do i bus it? Thanks Arch
Brakka Posted February 11, 2003 Posted February 11, 2003 Not sure exactly what you mean, but try using the delay as a send (not insert), and set it to 100% "wet."
archibald3 Posted February 11, 2003 Author Posted February 11, 2003 I run it as a send effect but it still effects the volume of the vocal if you turn it on and off.Someone explained this at one time and mentioned routing it differently-eg. return to a different channel or something-and i needed a refresher on it....Arch
Danny M Posted February 11, 2003 Posted February 11, 2003 You could accomplish this with two tracks, each having a copy of the vocal on them. One would be dry, and the other would have a delay inserted (or be bussed out to an auxiliary with a delay inserted). You could set the mix control to whatever you wanted (or set your blend, if you went the aux route), and then level match the two tracks. Then, you could write automation to selectively mute and unmute the vocals you wanted at the right times. You could also do this with a pre-fader aux send to the delay, and use automation to pull the fader down the appropriate amount when you unmute the send. However, I think that this latter way is more awkward overall. (Tougher to control, too.) -Danny Grace, Peace, V, and Hz, Danny
