sixslinger_dup1
I have a 1947 Fender Deluxe model lap steel, the pickup needs rewinding. does anyone know a good repair person for this type of job? I would prefer to have the original pickup rewound, but if this is not possible how about a replacement? Know any place that might have a stock of such items or anyone who makes quality original/near original replacements for vintage steels? Any help would be greatly appreciated, this fine old instrument should be played and not relegated to paper weight status. ------------------ sixslinger

Sir Bob
You can't go wrong with Lindy but try giving the Fender Custom Shop a call. They might like to have a look at the pickup and count the windings as they work on it. Maybe they would do it for free just to examine it. greed2000
I'm pretty sure that Seymour Duncan does rewinding.
Lisa
I'm pretty sure that Seymour Duncan and DiMarzio do rewinding. Because this is a special request, you would have to contact the company beforehand and make arrangements to send in the lap steel pickup.
