64 Bandmaster: ohms for load

Hi,

 

I've got this amp with matching cab and I have been told that puting an 8 ohm dummy load on along with the cab would be o.k. That would be 8 + 8 to give a total output of 4 ohms. I've checked spec sheets, but ohms fool me.

 

Also I was told that the Blackface models were 4 ohms, but is that really 4 ohms total like a Twin? (8 ohms actually being from the cab)
