rushtribute Posted February 14, 2001 Share Posted February 14, 2001 On a standard Tele with a 3 way switch, I can tell no difference in sound/tone in the middle and Bridge positions? dave251 Posted February 14, 2001 Share Posted February 14, 2001 Sounds to me like a bad switch. On a modern Tele, the switching is just as you want, neck, both, bridge....on an early 50's Tele, the configuration is: muted neck, neck, bridge. You will have to pull the control plate and have a look. It's not uncommon for these switches to function improperly or for the wire that ties the two sides of the switch to come undone somehow. The book "Guitar Electronics for Musicians"(Don Brosnac) has a diagram for you to follow if you need to replace the switch. Good luck.
