redroom
Opinions please on this. I can't afford a high class guitar for studio recording and a separate electroacoustic for live work. Whats a good compromise? ------------------
jef5f
For the money, the quality, and the live/studio versatility, I'd recomend two brands: Alvarez and Tacoma. I have an Alvarez Jumbo A/E I play in both settings and am never disappointed. I picked it up on ebay for $235 used from Daddys Junky Music. But Alvarez has A/Es that run in the $350-$600 range in the stores I've been in. I have tried some of the Tacomas in Columbia, Missouri. They had a couple of models in the $450-$600 range. I was blown away. My next acousitic will either be a Tacoma or the Martin D-15 A/E I love mahogany bodied acoustics. It was alive and plugged in, it was outstanding. For the price range, I don't know of any better and I've played a number of different brands. Psalm 33:3 The best instrument you have, is your heart.
