It kind of fell into my lap....

It was a bit of a toss up between a Triton Extreme, and this puppy..

In the end, I came across a slightly used Juno G that I just couldn't pass on. The best part is that it didn't really cost me anything, sold a D-70 & Wavestation EX to cover it. I think it will round out the live rig nicely, as it has the sampling & sequencing I was looking for, and I can even leave my XV-3080 at home if I choose to, as the G can accomodate an SRX card as well.

I too am contemplating picking one up. It's got many of the features I'm looking for in a second keyboard. My only concerns are the slighly smaller keys that to me also don't feel all that solid. But the thing sounds great and I also like the ability to add an SRX card. I'd love to hear the report Dan on how it works out live!

The main problem with the board has nothing to do with the sounds & features. It does indeed have shorter keys, by approx 1/4", and some parts of the chassis seem to be made out of the same cheap plastic as your vegetable crisper. It also only weighs 13lbs, which for portability is superb, but could be a problem if it were on a lower tier of a stand and was knocked. It wouldn't take much for it to wind up on the floor.

Still, 128 voices, up to 512 sample ram, 400,000 note sequencer, 1gig storage via USB & SM cards, it can't be beat for the price I paid.

As for the D-70, had it for 15 years, owed me nothing, although I will miss the 76 keys. The Wavestation didn't fit in with the band, and I already had the Legacy Collection in my DAW anyway.
