G. Ratte Posted February 6, 2003 Posted February 6, 2003 Has anybody used, say, one of those little Zoom multitrack recorders? I had an idea for doing vocals, with one of those little headphone/mic combos that you typically use for Internet-voice chat things. Like you could walk around a fairly quiet area, in the woods or something. Tracking your vox. Lo-Fi ain't a problem. G. Ratte' http://www.cultdeadcow.com
Brakka Posted February 11, 2003 Posted February 11, 2003 I've done stuff like this with my minidisc recorder. It's not multitrack. I've recorded hand percussion in places with cool reverb, indoors or out. I record a rough mix to cd to play along to, then record with a cheap-ass mic into the minidisc. You want to talk "lo-fi?" It's a tiny stereo mic that I got with a cassette recorder about 10 years ago, and the left side has gone bad and is very noisy. The cable is about as thick as dental floss. Then I dump it into Peak, make it mono (R only), and into Cubase.
