I just listened to the original Blue Note and then from a CD called Third Plane (Carter, Hancock, Williams). Even when he plays single note melody throughout the rest of the head, he uses that voicing over at least a part of that four bar phase. Busch. I just listened, and the parallel voicing he uses over the Eb7 doesn't sound like that voicing to me. I can't make out all the notes, but the parallel thing over the Eb7 sounds like a moving 7(9,#11) kind of voicing. Edit: ok, I just listened some more.
