Rick K. Posted February 4, 2003 Posted February 4, 2003 Now that's something positive from something negative. Rick
patrick_dont_fret Posted February 4, 2003 Posted February 4, 2003 $10 million for a fargin patch? What are these people, morons? In all due respect for the people that died on the shuttle, this is a ripoff. This guy is going to be an overnight millionaire.
patrick_dont_fret Posted February 4, 2003 Posted February 4, 2003
Originally posted by Rick Kreuzer: Read it Patrick. It's going to charity.
Hahahah, I'm soooo sure. That fund is in his name, no doubt. There are too many corrupted people on that thing selling pieces of the shuttle and all that, I wouldn't be surprised if he is too.
Zweite Version Posted February 4, 2003 Posted February 4, 2003 That's probably all phony bets, like when they auctioned eminems house off. 10 mil? on ebay? Come on... "Ya gots to work with what you gots to work with". - Stevie Wonder
Anifa Posted February 4, 2003 Posted February 4, 2003 Such a humble and honorable thing to do; I commend this lady and the bidder, if indeed it is legitimate, for the contribution they will be making towards the families of those lost. I don't believe this kind of generousity came about throughout the entire World Trade Tragedy, but it is nice to see someone step forward. I just hope that it's not a hoax on behalf of the bidder. RaGe Posted February 5, 2003 Author Posted February 5, 2003 I don't know but something is not right ... So you mean to tell me it escalated from $4.95 to over $10M and that the highest bidder's last purchase was a $2 comic book?
Sylver Posted February 5, 2003 Posted February 5, 2003 I like the intent of the seller, but I am wary that the buyer might be a hoax. Hopefully it's just someone with lots of cash who was touched by this trajedy and wants to make good. I really don't know what to put here.
Super 8 Posted February 5, 2003 Posted February 5, 2003 If you will read the revision WAYYYY down at the bottom of the page you will find that a fund that was set up for the Challenger (I think) has been set up to DIRECTLY receive the funds generated by this. So it's apparently not a scam. I agree with Patrick though, it's pretty naive to think that you could take the seller at her word that she'll do the right think when she gets 10mil transferred to her account. Even a person with noble intentions could easily find themselves becoming their own preferred charity when they have THAT kind of money to handle! Super 8 Hear my stuff here
