Dogfur Posted October 10, 2001 Posted October 10, 2001 These solutions are all viable and would be tremendous, but need a mandate from the masses to actually become reality. It is unfortunate that Phil O'Keefe's admirable suggestion to make pursuit of energy sources other than fossil fuels a "national mission" will not see the light of day until we have a "national mission" to not elect slaves of the energy industry.(or any industry for that matter!) Keep this in mind next time you yawn through another "campaign finace reform" report on the news. It becomes pretty disturbing when you start connecting the dots of the depth of our political mire, and see how clearly they point to tragic situations like 9-11-01. Woof!

In order for that mandate to get momentum, the masses have to turn to alternative media. Mainstream media represents the very organizations that these mandates are a threat to. If you're a major marketer, it's incredibly easy to get a major newspaper or newstation to not report on something, or if they must, to twist facts and biases. All you have to do is threaten to pull ads, or in extreme cases - threaten to sue them. For an example see this article on why you won't see Fox TV news talk about milk from cows injected with bovine growth hormone readily available in Florida supermarkets - despite health warnings, hit this link: http://www.purefood.org/rBGH/fltrial.cfm . That's just the tip of the iceberg. Do a search on media coverups and the findings become absolutely disturbing.
