hey good point soundcrafter. i bet you can do it with widows also, but the point is on a mac ya turn on filesharing, websharing, make a shared folder and BAM- you have a web server. it doesnt seem to take much cpu power either, i leave the server on while i run protools and pt doesnt seem to care. BTW dino321, CMDN is cool. i am sure he did not intentionally place those pop ups. i like cmdn, i am just giving him a healthy dose of shit for the day.... ya know, cuz a'da keybuboard a thinga BOOP

TVs with multiple channels schitzo? Not really, since they typically only display one channel at a time. The exception being PIP. But trying to watch two things at once is too much for my feeble brain. if your mac is bi (running 2 OS's) what does it make my PC if it runs 4? Besides, if ye have any computer you can run ye own webserver, if'n you have a static IP and a dedicated connection. Most providers will pummeleth you for this, but that's another story :p btw coaster, i'm only pickin' on ya coz i like ya :D

i actually dont use that thing. i hate it. too loud. i mainly use my old 8600, which i am on now and it is my "web server" and protools machine. the g4 is a dedicated interface for running industrial sewing machines and has nothing to do with music. (i am quite serious about this, thats really what it does) kinda stoopid isnt it, cuz the machines interface at an abysmally slow speed and do not require a g4. mebee i'll switchem, but i love my old 8600. its been a damn good machine for the last 6 years

Yeah.. really. Chill the fuck out. I spam you not. I wanted to share some show pics. That's all. The webmistress of our "fan" site couldn't afford to pay for a "nice" host, so she got a free one. Apparently this means there are pop-ups and a limit on the amount of uploads you can do daily. I'm sure she didn't know, and I definitely don't get paid for the pop-ups. Sorry for the inconvenience. When shit gets fixed up, I'll post a new link.

Hey CMDN, checkout netfirms.com web hosting...the free one is pretty good...I think there are no popups..just a banner ad, and they give a pretty nice amount of bandwidth that isn't on a daily limit. :D

[/b] Yeah really, that would sound like overkill for the application. I'll have to hear how loud and feel how hot one of these g4 towers really are. The hdd in my Athlon is a screamer with the case sides off, but when the sides are on it just does the whooshing air noise. During this time of the year though, i'm happy to run all my computers constantly, since the heat in my place isn't the best. My 3 working machines help keep the place a comfortable 80F, and i actually find the sound of all the case fans relaxing when i lay down to sleep. here is the pic cmdn sent me. i re-sized it down for the net, and i got rid of the "devil-red eyes" for ya man BTW, my machine is going down for a few minutes now, so if ya see red x's its cause i am offline totally i just got my new drives and i want to test them to see if they fire up. if so, i will have over 100GB of audio storage!!!!!!!!!!!!!! all fast scsi wow. just a few years ago i had 4GB of audio storage. how things change [img]http://24.116.34.121/stuff/syrgroupies2.jpg[/img]

hey thats our little secret :love: phaeton i dont use microslop for email. i use excite, and while they say there is a 1.5mb attachment limit, i have never seen it work very well at much above 600k. its kindof a crappy deal. i [i]do[/i] use micrapslop internazi exploder 5.1 though, and it consistantly "type 3's" on me. i even fed it 100MB ram and it still type 3's. i can run it for a while, then PHOOM (type 3) and i can restart it and run for another while. great job micrapdontstinksoft! opera runs solid but has a damn ad in it all the time, plus java doesnt seem to be as messed up as itsnotmyfault imploder. itsobad exhaler 5.1 screws up code so bad that everyone seems to run it that way and so only itscrap expaler can run it at all - because its wrong..... oh well. both my drives work, just tried them - initialized and partitioned and everything. they just dont spin up at boot. ??????? thats very VERY odd, because they are the exact same drives as the one i already have had for over 2 years! exact model number, everything. they just dont spin up until the buss polls for the drive - so i cant boot the machine off of those drives, buyt i can use them for audio how odd.
