OK... so our bass player managed to get himself hurt on Wed. night on the way to rehearsal. He was in a car accident. Apparently some dickhead cut him off on the expressway and then (to be a true asshole) he slammed on his brakes as soon as he got ahead. This caused our man, Marky (or #5), to swerve to avoid hitting the car. He wound up hitting the grass median and swerving back into traffic and side-swiping the same car. Both cars wound up in a ditch. Marky, being the mellow Sicilian that he is, immediately jumped out of his car and started screaming at the guy in the other car. When the other guy wouldn't get out of the car, Marky punched his windshield. After all was said and done... Marky's car is in the shop for a $700 repair, and he's got a separated shoulder. No activity for that shoulder for two weeks. Poor Marky... he can't rehearse for about a week. He's sad. I cancelled our rehearsals and any appearances we're supposed to do in the next two weeks. This sucks. But... on the other hand, my other projects can now get a little more attention. My "brit-pop" band has a gig next week, so we should probably prepare for that... Plus we still have some vocal and guitar tracking to do for our new CD. And... my drummer (Drew) and I have been threatening to start a horrible, self-indulgent stoner rock project with our buddy Chris (a bass player who owns a studio in our area.) So... I'll be ok, I guess.

You gotta keep an eye on those bassplayers. They're a crazy bunch. On a side note, our singer totaled his truck on a rock bluff last Friday and one of our guitarists managed to acquire a hernia. Luckily, they are both able to play. Good thing too, we have a gig tomorrow night.
Don't ask me, I'm just the bass player.

Oy... Thanks Tedster. I noticed a trend here: I smash a bus door. Marky punches a windshield. It's just a matter of time before our drummer kicks a gas tank and our singer bites a tailpipe. It's almost inevitable. We need to learn tto work out our aggressions without hurting motor vehicles.

It seems like I'm always the one who gets injured in the bands I'm in. I have played with a broken middle finger on my left hand, second degree burns all the way around my ankle, a broken right hand, broken toe, etc. I guess I'm just accident prone.

Reach out and grab a clue.

Patrick... I'm not sure if you'd really be into this project... We're talking seriously de-tuned, sludgy stuff here. Something along these lines: Bongzilla I dunno if it's your cup of tea, but I love this stuff. I know.. I know... I hate drugs, but I love stoner metal. I'm a man of contradictions.

The other night, I started soloing on my fretless, using some heavy distortion, a twist of chorus, and some heavily accented wahs. Stuff was wilder than I've ever heard, and with that fretless mahwonnnngggg I get, it was friggin awesome, heavy stuff. I like some heavy music, man. Not just hippie stuff.
