Hi! What power do you need to have an eq + compressor on 32 audio tracks + EXS + 2-3 good reverbs? Can a dual 1.25 GHZ Mac do the job? Thanks

it depends on the plugs, logic plugs you can do it. the are very easy on the CPU. I use Waves ren EQ, PSP comp/lim a UAD-1 card and a hand full of other plugs. my system purred along fine yesterday, mixing 33 track, 1 VSTi (EVP88) and about 42 plugs. I use a PIII 600MHz wim 98se. hope that helps

Well, there's some great news for you. Logic 6 introduced a concept called "Freezing" a track. This pre-calculates the effect of plugins and turns the result into a fixed audio track - you can "unfreeze" it later if you want to adjust something. That means that you compress/EQ/effect a track as much as you like, freeze it, then turn the plug-ins OFF! No more CPU load for that track beyond the level needed to play back an audio track. Logic RULEZ!!!

Thanks[/b][/quote]I's say 32 tracks with EQ and comp would take less than 70% of a single 1gHz machine. Now, how many EXS -instruments do you need, and which reverb with which setting? :-)

Yes i forgot, i need 96 EXS voices + Altiverb on a medium hall mono to stereo .....
