Tremendo Tumbao
Can anybody recommend good headphones or earphones for Kurzweil PC1x (to be plugged directly into it) I found the sound of the Kurzweil PC1x too low, in comparison to Rolands or Yamahas. I have listen to it thru a mixing board to increase the level a bit.

ITGITC
Hi Tremendo Tumbao, and welcome to The Keyboard Corner. Kurzweil makes some great equipment. Unfortunately, their headphone outputs just aren't very hot. I have tried many types of headphones. For equipment with low output, like the Kurzweil equipment, you may want to try a simple, lightweight, inexpensive pair of Sony headphones made for the Sony Walkman. They sound great (especially for the price) and will get loud without a lot of output from the headphone jack. I've also got a pair of AKG K240 headphones. They redesigned these a few months back so that it wouldn't take as much current to drive them. These are now called the AKG 240 Studio Headphones (55 ohms). CLONK HERE FOR MORE INFO. CLONK HERE IF YOU JUST CAN\'T GET ENOUGH. Good luck. jook
Like Gas said, look for headphones with low impedance (less than 60 ohms). Alot of headphones for portable listening (like ipods and walkmans) tend to be around 30 ohms, so give those a try if 55 ohms is still too much. Check the impedance of your current headphones. The lower the impedance, the easier they will be to drive.
