Emma Posted January 17, 2003 Posted January 17, 2003 Has using a DAW resulted in you experiencing more "down time" (i.e. periods when you cannot work due to technology related problems) during the production process?
not Cereal Posted January 17, 2003 Posted January 17, 2003 hasnt been a problem with the macs i work with my widows pc breaks down a lot though
Emma Posted January 17, 2003 Author Posted January 17, 2003 Yes I have noticed that most people seem to complain about system failures within PC's more than Mac. Mind you I have managed to make a few G4's crash, but then again I have just had to order a new PC after mine died - I must have the deadly touch ;)
Bunny Knutson Posted January 17, 2003 Posted January 17, 2003 Hey, now, let's not start a Mac vs. PC debate here. :) Instead, let's start a Ford vs. Chevy debate! Oh, yeah! I drive a Ford because Fords don't crash. ;) https://bunny.bandcamp.com/ https://theystolemycrayon.bandcamp.com/
not Cereal Posted January 17, 2003 Posted January 17, 2003 just to be fair, my pc is junk. too old, too slow. a modern pc would work better than mine. mine only does sysex dumps and such - which is why its so amazing that the thing whigs out at the oddest moments

Emma Posted January 17, 2003 Author Posted January 17, 2003 I guess the problems with PC's are that they can be so different and you are at the mercey of the company you buy from. My first PC lasted for years (it's still alive today) and my last one (a Tiny PC unsuprisingly enough) died after less than 3 years. I hope my new one lasts longer! At least you know what you are buying with a Mac.
Emma Posted January 17, 2003 Author Posted January 17, 2003 lol - and on the Ford debate - they last forever. My old ford feista is still going, even though I never drive it. I wish Ford would build computers ;)
not Cereal Posted January 17, 2003 Posted January 17, 2003 um, wait a minute. "old" and "ford fiesta"? um, NO. "OLD" would be a 67 mustang try driving a 34 year old vehicle. i do. fiesta cant be more than 1/2 the age of my truck, and its a DODGE
Emma Posted January 17, 2003 Author Posted January 17, 2003 Well I must confess it isn't as "old" as your truck then - but at about 15 years old it's still a pretty old car.
