MeAndPM3
I took delivery on my new Promega 3 a little over two weeks ago and, while I haven't spent as much time "Playing" as I would have liked, I have had enough time to form an opinion. "What a Keyboard!" I haven't hooked up to speakers yet but, have been using a quality pair of headphones and the sounds are pure, full and, rich. I am especially impressed with the 10' Fazioli. In fact, I haven't found a sound yet that I am not truly happy with. Getting around on the keyboard is a breeze. It is well laid out and easy to navigate. I may sit down and actually read the manual one of these days. The touch and sensitivity of the keys is very impressive to me also. I bought this keyboard without ever having played a Promega 3 but, after doing some very extensive research, especially on the forums and in reading reviews and by testing a number of other keyboards. I believe I could have played about every keyboard available to test and my decision would have been the same. BTW, I also own a GEM Genesys so I was already familiar with the quality of GeneralMusic products. In what I have received with the Promega 3, GeneralMusic did not betray my faith in their products in any way. It is all I had hoped for and more. I am a "HAPPY CAMPER!" I would like to hear from other Promega 3 owners as to how you use your keyboard, what kind of tweaks you have found to improve your enjoyment in playing and, any suggestions you may have that will be of benefit to me in using my PM3. I will eventually hook it up to my Genesys and to speakers. It will function as a controller for the Genesys so that I can use the Genesys recording capabilities and all the styles available on that keyboard. Should be a fantastic combination. I look forward to hearing from all who are willing to share their knowledge and experiences with the PM3. Many Thanks..... Jerry Mullikin Jerry Mullikin ProMega 3 Is Good For Me! gangsu
Hi there! Congrats on the purchase! I won't presume to offer any across the board tweaks.. especially for that beastly Fazioli. You gotta work that one out for yourself. However, it was pointed out to me by another guy on this board, that some interesting variations on the pianos can be found simply by going through the presets and paying attention to all the moving dials and sliders..... ex, the Rhodes 1 preset sets up a nice full Steinway. Try it, you might like it. BTW, you might want to think about using a different login name. I used to be known around here as wantpromega3. There's only so much these good people can take. "........! MeAndPM3
Hi Gangsu, Thanks for the reply. I will look into applying some of the currrent pre-sets to different voices and see what I come up with. I have to say, this is truly a great keyboard and it is going to take me quite sometime to get to where I can fully use all the fantastic "stuff" that is built into it. Since this keyboard has been out since 2002 I know that a good number of people who frequent this forum own them so I am hoping to hear from a few more owners. I am totally a novice when it comes to playing keyboard but, I am satisfied with the fact that I started out with a unit that will provide me a lot of enjoyment for a long time. Thanks again for the reply. Also, I agree that the name I use might be a little bit over the top but, it sure does express my feelings about this board. MeAndMP3 ProMega 3 Is Good For Me!
