Phred
Hey guys, My band threw a tune at me that I had never heard, and would like me to have it ready for practise tonight. Tall order considering that I am at work with no black and whites around.. I said no, but would like to show up kinda ready and run it to see how it would work. It is Blue Bayou by Roy Orbison. No keys in it, but they thought I could play the do-do-do singer part on a Rhodes sounds. Anyone have any hints on the voicings? Peter Krogh I'm just saying', everyone that confuses correlation with causation eventually ends up dead.
Garrafon
Sorry, Phred, but I've never played it. I guess the best I can suggest is try to look at some online tabs, see if they compare with one another (to gain some hope of remote accuracy) and use those as starting points. Good luck! Trill
Phred, How about a basic pattern, You'll hear the bassline C ...C/G...C...C/G then change to G7/D....G7....G7/D....G7 and later on in the verse Dm6 ...G7....Dm6...G7 instead of the G7/D...G7 ... Then you come to a transition Near the end of the verse C7 ..F...Bb7..C..,C/G...G7/D...G7..C I hope that gets you started with some ideas I would suggest a layer of strings would give it a nice feel.
