Groovepusher Sly Posted January 16, 2003 Posted January 16, 2003 If you purchased a prerecorded music product (i.e., CD, cassette, vinyl album) during the period of January 1, 1995, through December 22, 2000, you may be eligible to file a claim to receive between $5 and $20 compensation in a current lawsuit underway in the United States District Court for the District of Maine. If you are eligible and would like to file a claim, visit www.musiccdsettlement.com . No receipt is necessary when filing a claim. If the settlement results in payments of less than $5 per person, then the proceeds will go to charity. My 1st. thought; I think I'll make a claim. My 2nd. thought; What if they just want to get my info to add to some e-mail list?! What do ya'll think? Sly  Whasineva ehaiz, ehissgot ta be Funky!
whitefang Posted January 16, 2003 Posted January 16, 2003 If it were $20 per purchase, I'd jump on it. But otherwise, I'm willing to bet all settlements will wind up $5 and under, and that money going to charity might get written off. Probably not worth the bother. Whitefang. I started out with NOTHING...and I still have most of it left!
Addix Metzatricity Posted January 16, 2003 Posted January 16, 2003 But that's money that wouldn't normally go to a "music-related charity in your state". I signed up. "Bass isn't just for breakfast anymore..." http://www.mp3.com/Addix_Metzatricity
