Sven Golly
Well, at least you tried. Here's a hint, though... there is a picture of me (and just me) from one of the shows... I'm sure you'll find me now. Cheers, SG

It was bad enough scrolling through EVERY ONE on the list of musicians to pick THREE keyboard players & try to figure which one was the infamous Sven Golly. Can't I just look up convicted sex offenders in Toronto? Kidding... (you're not REALLY a sex offender, are ya, Sven?) Can't I just look up convicted sex offenders in Toronto? Kidding... (you're not REALLY a sex offender, are ya, Sven?) Nope... never had a sheep press charges. (man, this is pretty close to the line, even for me... ) So... back to the Steely Dan thread, before I split for the gig. Cheers, SG

There is a piano part in Badge. Why was that omitted? Steve A Lifetime of Peace, Love and Protest Music www.rock-xtreme.com
dnile
Eric Clapton was often known to play his guitar through a leslie, right? Well that's what I heard, perhaps that explains it.
matted stump
Originally posted by MidLifeCrisis: There is a piano part in Badge. Why was that omitted? That piano part was played by their producer Felix Pappalardi, wasn't it? The entire concert was stripped down, no extras. I missed the piano in Badge, but even worse, the strings and feedback guitar in the beginning hook of "White Room". Eric just played muddy power chords. Bleechhh. They did not go out of their way to recreate the sounds that made them famous. Jack's bass sound was very clean and more like the metal bass players of today rather than the thick heavy bottom he used to lay down. Eric's sound was very clean and noticeably driven by effects. I was bummed not to see a stack of Marshalls behind him to give him that authentic overdriven sound. BTW, I believe "White Room" strings were F.P. playing viola and Mellotron.
