Dave Horne
A while ago someone asked my opinion about the Mellow Grand on the P250 and I gave a dismissive answer. I apologize for that. I've had my P250 set up in my living room for a month or so and have been tweaking the GrandPiano sound. At one point I switched to the Mellow version and it stayed with me (after tweaking it of course). The Japanese really like bright sounding pianos. I have a fair amount of high end hearing loss and if a piano sounds a tad bright to me, it must sound very bright to someone without a hearing loss. There's also something else that annoys me at home that doesn't show up on jobs. In the octave a 10th below middle C - the three notes of one sample- Ab, A, Bb (I could be off by one note), there's a buzz that I hear. Sometimes I think that buzz permeates everything I play and other times I don't hear it at all. Is this just me? When I play on jobs where I use the P250, all the other noises on the job mask anything I thought I might have heard in my living room. No guitarists were harmed during the making of this message. In general, harmonic complexity is inversely proportional to the ratio between chording and non-chording instruments.
K K
Since nobody wants to help, I'll guess it's one of those giant Japanese wasp stuck under those three notes. Be careful not to play the three notes at the same time : you could free the beast and its sting can be lethal.
