tigerv8
I'm trying to replace 2 broken keys on my KX-88. I can't figure out how to take the top cover off. There are 4 screws on the top that I removed but the top still doesn't come off. It feels like something is still holding it on. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. joec in nyc http://www.cerisano.com
Sven Golly
Check the screws on the back... just going on very fuzzy memories, but there are screws holding the top (which is actually the top and rear) to the chassis. Don't remove ALL the screws on the back... many of the connector sub-assemblies are attached to the back, but will lift up with the top. guestuserguestuser.com
I had a KX88 for a while a few years ago, and I remember taking the top off to clean some sticky keys. I wish I could remember what was involved. But, at least I can tell you it's possible, and also that, if I was able to figure out how to do it, you can too! But you're doing the right thing - keep asking around see if you can find someone that knows exactly how to do it, I think that's probably what I did too. You also might try phoning a Yamaha service centre, they might be able to help you.
