Dave Bryce
As previously mentioned in another thread, the folks who are putting on Music Player Live in NYC next weekend have asked Craig Anderton and me to host a dinner (on them) on Friday night, October 21st at the restaurant at the Crown Plaza in NYC. In addition to Craig and myself, we will be joined by Dave Smith and Keyboard magazine editor Ernie Rideout (and maybe more of the Keyboard mag crew). For any of you guys planning on attending the show, we'd love to have you join us for dinner that evening... dB ==> David Bryce Music • Funky Young Monks <== Affiliations: Cloud Microphones • Music Player Network

Ernie Rideout
Just to reiterate: the full editorial staff of Keyboard will be there, including many of our contributing editors. It'll be way cool! Please let Dave know if you want to attend, we need to make sure we have room for everyone. Ernie Rideout, Private Citizen Gee, that was quick. Geoff Grace
This makes me nostalgic for Music Technology Day , a similar event MusicPlayer held in LA four years ago. Unfortunately, it wasn't very well attended; but it did lead to the very first MusicPlayer forum dinner . (For those who don't already know, I posted as soapbox in the threads I linked to.) I wish I could go to this one too; but I'm WAY too behind on my work, not to mention how extravagant it would be to fly across the country for dinner. Mark Zeger
I wonder if we could somehow throw together a group music playing opportunity, maybe after dinner? I'd bring my horns to NY and leave the keyboards to those with better chops.

Stephen Fortner
Was going to be there... had planned on coming for some time, but sometimes the demands of being a working musician override what I'd LIKE to do. A rather huge gig falls on the weekend of MP live that it would be a monumental deal to sub out, as I'm wearing quite a few hats that day (tech director, stage manager, and MD, among others). Coming to NYC would have meant turning down the gig and seven of my friends not working. Can't do that to 'em, but I'll be there in spirit. RABid
Wish I could be there. I keep promising myself I will fly up or over to one of these dinners. Unfortunately, or fortunately, I'll be driving to Dallas at that time. What time is dinner? I will pop in a Keyboard Corner CD at that time to listen to as I drive. Joe McDonough
Hello All: I'm organizing with with Dave and Craig's help. Glad to see everyone coming. We're looking forward to a great weekend. How about everyone who's doing the dinner with us meet at the Dave Smith table and we'll go from there. Someone on one of these threads here or at HC asked about the menu. I looked into that but stopped listening after I heard free Amstel, Heineken, Bud, ect. I know there's some good catered food, more than sandwiches and whatnot, but heck it's free and there's free booze. Can't be bad. See you soon. jerrythek
Is this a restaurant, or a catered room thing? Will vegetarians (Jack is a fish-e-terian) be covered? Can I sit at the adult table this time - I'm old enough??!?!? :-) Jerry

Tusker
Fantastic from my perspective. Nice to see Mark Zeger, Frostbyte, Jerry the K, Stephen Kay, Joe McDonough, Jack Hotop, Michael Gallant, Craig Anderton, Ernie Rideout and David Bryce. Those were just the people I met. Totally gracious hosts who were so down to earth. I felt privileged to be in such rare company. Thanks for reaching out to us, fellas. Of course I was dissapoint not to see Dan who I had looked forward to meeting finally. I looked for Elle Effaux but nobody I met admitted to being her. The plot thickens ... Mark Zeger
It was good to meet you, too, Jerry! Sorry you didn't make it back on Saturday. Thanks to dB for the dinner invite. The best part of the evening was the access Dave afforded me to the 6pm cocktail party for exhibitors, staff, etc. Great food, open bar, and live entertainment... from Larry Carlton and his band (with horns)! They played a short set of tunes from his January '06 release album. VEEEEERY nice.
