Sergievsky
You know, something to compete with the RD700sx/S90es. I think my Extreme76 is perfect as a top-tier keyboard, but I need a piano one, and though I usually use an RD700, the SX doesn't quite make me snap out the credit card. I always thought the 16mb exp piano that came with the Studio and Extreme was better than what people say, but I think if Korg can build on that, bigger sample or whatever, and include the excellent pads capability in the Tritons, add some killer EPs (weakness of the rolands) then that would be THE main keys for me. I think I give up on softsyths for the main piano, and really if I need to play organ I wouldn't be playing it on the 88keybed anyway, I'd play it on the top-tier. The piano really needs to cut through the band on PA speakers though, yet retain that..."acousticness" (somebody help me out here... ) of a real piano, ya know, on those ballads with just the voice. I like the way Roland makes it easy to add/- layers though, and I appreciate the little touches like the XLRs in the back. Anyway, it just seems to me people are still looking for the piano/main keyboard for the live concert scene, one that doesn't weigh a ton and doesn't have additional real estate extending from the 88keys. SilverDragonSoun
I always thought the 16mb exp piano that came with the Studio and Extreme was better than what people say Ok I'll bite. While it may have been better, most people still considered inferior to the other competitors keyboards in the same class. It was one of the main reasons I never considered the Triton Studio or Extreme. The Oasys, which is a great product, has outpriced itself from most musicians. Many people feel you can get better equipment seperately for that price. Going back to your original request for an Oasys piano, the questions I have would be how much is it going to cost, Is the interest there for this product, is the quality going to be the same as the Oasys, would they market it correctly, would the other sounds have useability, would they improve the keyboard action and by the time it came out would it be as good as the competitors projects. Korg hasn't done well in the digital piano arena up to this point. Begin the day with a friendly voice A companion, unobtrusive - Rush
Sergievsky
I just read the Nord Stage thread, and I think that's the type of unit I was getting at, not necessarily Oasys, so I'll have to check that out when I get the chance. But yeah, their digital pianos haven't been too hot. Still, a Korg Stage would be really cool. Raul
