jazidup
How do you record a rhodes in stereo from ONE amp? (Fender Twin Reverb) even with two mics...won't that still result in phasing or are there two preamp outs....i'm gonna rent the amp so that i can get the right sound
kanker.
You can't - you'll be recording a mono source with 2 mics, panning the will result either in phase issues/comb filtering or a mono sound. In order to get a stereo effect from this, you'll need to set a small delay up on one mic or the other. A ROMpler is just a polyphonic turntable. Phred
And if you are going through the effort of setting up a delay - I would do it after you record mono. Copy the track and add a little delay to one. Not really stereo, but could be a nice effect. Another option that guitar players use is to set up two mics, on right by the amp and another much further away set to record the amp with room ambience. Again, this is not stereo - but it is a nice sound. I'm just saying', everyone that confuses correlation with causation eventually ends up dead.
