Yes, and "Sexy Bastard" too. I have nothing against folks who, uh, well, like the Village People...but, just not a work-friendly avatar.

(Scottish accent)... Good, then I can find one of me, Fat Bastard, nekkid and post it? HAHAHAHA... Well, thanks, Oiled. It allows you to keep your (I'm assuming you're male) "happy" identity without being obscene. And please don't cry foul, we would have to ask the same of someone posting nude women as well.

I admit, Kilroy, although I personally find that preferable, it's still in questionable taste for the workplace...sigh.

whacala ¡¡¡¡ Uhh....I'm not sure what the above means. Heck, the "bastard" thing is about blown over anyway. But, you didn't see "Oiled"'s earlier avatar. It was rather obscene, but Oiled was nice enough to change it to something no more risque than what might be found in a fashion mag. Fat Bastard may be fat and ugly, but it's not obscene. Obese, yes, obscene, no. So, yes, Fat Bastard will go as soon as I find something for a replacement.

If you really must know, go take a look in the Digital Recording Forum, at the Tannoy thread (it was there a minute ago, & I thought he had changed it from the above)...but if you are sorry, don't come crying to me about it.

I could do without that Oiled pic, but kilroy_orb, the Jeebus begs you, please don't change your avatar. If people are viewing the forum at work (which they shouldn't be doing anyway), that's their problem. They can turn avatars off if they choose to view the forum at work. Keep that sexy babe!!!!! ------------------ His Majesty, The Jeebus

First he raises a big stink so that I have to change it, then he goes and posts the picture up anyway. What's the difference if it's my avatar or simply one of his pictures? At least when it was my avatar, people who didn't want to see it could turn it off.

My bad, someone else complained about it. personally, I thought it was funny. So did Geenard. But I guess we were the only 2. :(

Ya know, I really have no problems with homosexuality. I really don't object to it at all. But when I see pictures like that, I find myself being VERY reassured that I am a heterosexual. I am glad about that, but I do also think that gay men probably get a better deal than most straight men in that their partner's sex drives would likely match their own. Women just don't seem to need it as often as guys do. I get the impression that this is pretty much a heterosexual crowd here on this forum. Just for curiosity's sake, "are there any queers in the audience?". No seriously, I'm just wondering if anybody here is gay and out of the closet about it? Would it change anybody's attitudes about them or this forum if there were? Yes, I'm taking a pole...

doesnt change my attitude about a person whether or not they are "gay" (bad word i know) the only thing that bothers me about homosexuality is the SAME thing that bothers me about heterosexuality: when someone comes on to you and wont take NO for an answer. i take offense to ANYONE that does that to me, and it's happened more than once from both male and females.
Originally posted by Super 8: I get the impression that this is pretty much a heterosexual crowd here on this forum.
Well, online forums, in theory, represent a pretty predictable cross-section of real life. And, in real life, depending on who you ask, about 10% of people are gay. So, conceivably, quite a few folks who read/post on SSS are gay. Considering the fact that we're all in a creative art form, I'd say chances are good that it's higher than 10%. I've been lucky to be raised in an environment that had me believing that there's no reason to be discriminatory toward any groups of people, be it based on gender, race, sexual orientation, religion and so on. I know others weren't so fortunate. But I also think that as musicians, we're a little above the norm in accepting people for what they are. It's not always going to be the case, but most musicians I've worked with have been the least racist, least misoginist, and least likely to not be accepting of a person's sexual preference. - Jeff
