not Cereal Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 my buddy found some old homemade records his mom made when she was about 5years old. YES, a RECORD recorder. how messed up is that?!?! so we played some of these old records into protools and here is one. what is this bibbity bobbity boo? what is this song from?
Brakka Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 The song is from an older Disney movie, but that recording sounds even older than that. Not sure who's singing, but there are plenty of old people that hang out here at SSS, maybe one of them will know. :D
not Cereal Posted January 6, 2003 Author Posted January 6, 2003 it worked for you? that link is on my freinds puter and i cant seem to get it to work very well right now. 2 hours ago it was great connection
Salyphus Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 If it's homemade then it's probably his mom or one of her friends/family singing, no? Private press, eh? Those are really hip to sample from you know. Just ask DJ Shadow :thu:
Brakka Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 Hey coaster- If they really are "private press" records, maybe you could find some gems for us sampling freaks and put together a one- or two-minute mp3 of sh*t collected from a handful of the records. ? You are the sharing type after all, eh? :)
not Cereal Posted January 6, 2003 Author Posted January 6, 2003 again, what is private press? is that just the fact that the records are cut on a record cutter? its a really old thing, like 60 years old or more. not very high fidelity
Bob Keelan Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 I'm almost postive it's from Cinderella and that's hardly a homemade recording. bob
not Cereal Posted January 6, 2003 Author Posted January 6, 2003 no, it is. originally of course not, but it was recorded onto the record by this old machine
alcohol Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 I got to admit that the Bastard Coaster picture is everybit as annoying as LaDiLah'z dancing Gore. More power to you because it isn't even an animation. "The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who in a period of moral crisis maintain their neutrality." [Dante Alighieri] (1265-1321)
Bunny, Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 I agree. Dammit Coaster, you inconsiderate bastard. SILLY WABBIT
Kooky Mogessi Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 It is from Cinderella. The fairy godmother sings it when she shows up and is changing the crap out of Cinderella and all the stuff around her. I just know TOOOOOOOO much usless crap like that. "Cliff Burton (the "Major rager of the 4-string mother f***er", from Metallica)" Direct quote from Wikipedia (censored out of respect for the forum)
Mats Olsson. Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003 Back in the old days, some stores had acetate cutters. Kind of a cheezy version of what was used in mastering back then. You could bring a tape or go in a both and sing while they cut your disc. If this is something you'd like to try, Vestax have a disc cutter in production. Expensive, but if you know a lot of DJ's, there might be some profitabilty. /Mats http://www.lexam.net/peter/carnut/man.gif What do we want? Procrastination! When do we want it? Later!

Audiobotica Posted January 6, 2003 Posted January 6, 2003
Originally posted by Bastard Coaster: bibbity bobbity boo? what is this song from?
That was sung by Verna Felton in Cinderella as the Fairy Godmother. Sheesh, Coaster, bring us some difficult questions why not? Oh, and something on topic might be good too! ;-) Yours in Music, Ben Fury

Franknputer Posted January 7, 2003 Posted January 7, 2003 By the way - the RIAA wants to 'talk' to your Mom... :D
