What a you care? You freaking Yankees sit around eating clam chowder, or Philly cheese steak, or whatever it is you people eat, and chain smoking cigarettes that came from North Carolina, by the way, and sit in your exorbitantly priced tiny little apartments, and ride around on the bus because you can't afford a parking space for a car, and think the world revolves around your little overgrown part of the world. Then you come down here and call us bubba and think we sit on the front porch shucking corn all day, and eat barbecue three meals a day, and drink beer, and have sex with other family members, and keep barnyard animals in our houses, and don't know how to read, and hate black people. Don't you? I had a good Christmas and New Year.

Bubba, you are SO cute!! Save me some ribs, willya? I can't carry them on the bus or else I'll get mugged for em. Besides, I can't fit them in my apartment. I'll just get a steak. Word to your sister. I had a tranquil holiday and new year. Thanks for asking.

Well, My dad died (he was not sick) on Dec 23, two days before Christmas. I'm (almost single handedly) burying him tomorrow. Enjoy (the rest of ) your holidays. Christmas/New year will be part holiday / part memorial for me forever...

Sorry about your loss Drew. My Grandma died on monday, My ex had open heart surgery on friday, and my mother in law has been in the hospital since Dec 21. I have spent a big chunk of the holidays at hospitals. Take care.

She was in intensive care on Christmas, and passed away Dec. 30. I, too, being an only child, was responsible for all arrangements. I know that that will haunt you for the rest of your life. But, the Holidays are full of the ghosts of family who have gone before. In time, the memories will fade from being sad, to being good ones, tinged with melancholy, to be sure, of "Dad used to do this every Christmas". Just like he used to do with his own Dad after he died. And your kids will do with you after you're gone. That's what the Holidays are for, in a way. Reflection, and realizing that you are presently writing your own chapter on future "good old days"....
