Cool! :thu: That's such a great activity. I was in the Madrigal Choir in HS and it was great. Well, I was the pianist, but I sang (sometimes to the chagrin of the choirmaster) anyway. They were the NY State champs for the 3 years I was associated with them (and quite a few before and after, but hell, that doesn't count 'cause I wasn't associated with them then :D ) My junior year, the last day before Christmas break (We still HAD Christmas breaks then: None of this Winter Holiday, Winter Solstice shit) we were hanging out before first class, and someone started singing that stupid old 70's commercial: "You Are My Lemon..." (Showing my age there...) We all kicked into full 6-part harmony for it, and on the spot decided to cut school and go through the halls a-caroling. We visited all the classes we were cutting, and not one teacher gave us a cut slip for the day. In fact, some were making requests! Ah, the memories of fun times. Just keep her away from Band Camp...
Setup: Korg Kronos 61, Roland XV-88, Korg Triton-Rack, Motif-Rack, Korg N1r, Alesis QSR, Roland M-GS64 Yamaha KX-88, KX76, Roland Super-JX, E-Mu Longboard 61, Kawai K1II, Kawai K4.

If you'd ever met Valkie, you probably wouldn't ask that question. She's easy to picture standing up on a stage wearing a metal helmet with horns and a cape, belting out some serious Wagner. Plus, she records a lot of classical music. Hiya Valkie!

I've met Valkie. She doesn't quite fit the bill of a Viking. The High School Christmas presentation was so fun. They know how to have a good time and get the crowd into it. By comparison I went to a full adult presentation with orchestra and tuxedos and it was dull and lifeless. So Valky, are you a real Viking?

So to our friend Valkyrie on the board, how did you select your name?
Way cool! I selected my screen name (and company name) because: 1. I just love the old Norse myths 2. I've always had a sword fantasy ;) 3. All my classical clients LOVE it 4. People don't forget the name... I've had Federal government sound system contractors who have heard and REMEMBERED my company. I haven't the faintest clue where they heard about my company... but they remembered! :thu: 5. I have a lot of Scandinavian heritage in my family 6. I've always wanted a flying horse. 7. I STILL have that sword fantasy. :D I love all things Valkyrie related.... I've got a cool steel sword for my studio... some nice statues and artwork.... My favorite item is a prop sword used by the Valkyrie warriors in the Xena series during their "Ring" episodes. :thu: Maybe I'll just drop the audio chick thing and become a professional wrestler... then I can have the whole outfit! :D Valky

She threatened to use it on me at least once. I'd put a little smiley icon here if I was kidding, but alas, I'm not. - Jeff
Hunting weasels with swords? My daughter's school just hired a new music director, and he's brought a new sparkle to their performances. I missed the first one - previous committment - and wouldn't you know, he brought Kerry Livgren (another Scandanavian name) into the show. Kerry is one of my high school classmates and lives in our school district. I guess I can only aspire to be the second best songwriter in my class. For the Christmas program, the new director brought a bell group from a local church to play carols while the auditorium filled up. It was a wonderful touch. The kids also seem to have new inspiration from their new teacher. The best of new year's to all. I'm still suffering from whatever plague Coaster sent rolling down the great plains. Henry
